Since I have purchased my Canon 60D, I have been getting more into photography recently. Here are a few pictures I’ve been holding onto since November 1st. For more pictures, you can view them on my Flickr.
VX2100 3D model
This is my first official blog post, and i feel it appropriate to explain the current logo for Pond Media LLC. The whole reason why I started filming and editing goes back to when I was 12 years old and wanted to make a skate video to get sponsored. That never happened, but I modeled my logo after the “death lens” used to film skateboarding, which is shown below.
As I have continued to learn Cinema 4D, I decided to create an animated 3 model of the camera with my logo composited onto the screen of the camera. To do that I need to first model the camera from scratch. Here is the wireframe view of the camera from C4D

The next challenge was going through the steps of integrating C4D into After Effects which I found on this tutorial from greyscalegorilla.com.
To do this, I had to export 3 elements. (and install a AE plugin for it read the C4D created project file)
-Full Animation
vx2100_animation (not composited)
-Alpha Matte of the Screen (black & white Matte to be used in AE)
vx2100_Track Matte
-After Effects Project file which includes 3d tracking data & lights data to effect the image composited on the screen
Once in AE I needed to import the screen elements created in PS & AI and create a composition of them to be precomposed into the master composition. After they are laid out in the composition, I plug that comp into the main composition, resize, and adjust the lighting on the screen. This is what the final project looks looks like!
